The Kingdom of Eswatini has rejected rumors that it is offering citizenship to people from southern Africa to address a shortage of men in the country.

This denial comes after a fake letter, supposedly written by King Mswati III, circulated online expressing concern about the lack of men in the kingdom.

The letter falsely claimed that the king would help men from southern Africa marry women and receive free houses in Eswatini.

The Eswatini government has confirmed that this letter is fake in a brief statement released on X.

It is unknown who created the fake letter, but it caused excitement among some social media users in southern Africa.

Eswatini, the last absolute monarchy in Africa, has a population of around 1.2 million people.
