Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the upcoming Edo State governorship election, has chosen Barr. Osarodion Ogie, the Secretary to the Edo State Government (SSG), as his running mate.
According to the Nigerian Tribune, a PDP official in Benin City revealed the development to the press on Friday, requesting anonymity as they were not authorized to speak on behalf of the party.
Ogie was selected due to his popularity and widespread support in Edo South, which is considered the most populous senatorial district in Edo State.
Described as a politician, administrator, and lawyer, Ogie is known for his strategic thinking and contributions to peace, stability, and progress in the region, similar to Dr. Ighodalo.
During Governor Adams Oshiomhole’s tenure, Ogie served as Chief of Staff and later as Commissioner for the Ministry of Works (now Roads and Bridges) in Edo.
