President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Brigadier-General Lawal Ja’afar Isa (Rtd) to be the Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children Education.
General Ja’afar Isa is a respected leader who served as the military administrator of Kaduna State from 1993 to 1996.
The announcement, made by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, also included the appointment of Alhaji Tijani Hashim Abbas as the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Chieftaincy Matters.
These new appointees are expected to use their extensive experience in these important roles, which have a significant impact on society, to help achieve the administration’s goal of providing a comprehensive education to Nigeria’s out-of-school children.
Tinubu Appoints Otuaro As Amnesty Programme Administrator
Similarly, President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of Dennis Otuaro as the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) on Thursday.
In a statement, the President’s spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, said, “The President anticipates that the new Administrator will bring his requisite experience and know-how to this role to revamp the Amnesty Programme and advance the realization of its founding purpose and vision.”
“Otuaro holds a PhD in Comparative Politics & Development Studies; an MSc in Public Administration, and a BSc in Education.
“He had previously served as a top-level executive of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) with a surplus of experience across multiple sectors, including infrastructure development, security, environmental remediation, as well as oil and gas.”
Tinubu Appoints Umar As New NEMA DG
President Bola Tinubu also approved Mrs. Zubaida Umar to become the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA).
As per a statement from President Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, Mrs. Umar’s appointment highlights the President’s dedication to promoting gender equality.
The new Director-General of NEMA has more than 20 years of experience in various areas such as human resources, finance, and administration.
She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers and the Institute of Credit Administration.
Ngelale mentioned that the president hopes the new director-general will bring much-needed financial and operational discipline to reshape the agency into a performance-oriented and proactive emergency response provider.
