Nigerian disc jockey Florence Otedola, also known as DJ Cuppy, was robbed on the streets of Soho, London, on Saturday.
The Nigerian DJ informed her millions of fans on the microblogging network X (previously Twitter) that her phone, an iPhone 14 Pro Max, had been abruptly taken from her hands.
“They thief my iPhone 14 Max Pro from my hand in Soho,” DJ Cuppy tweeted, heartbroken.
Cuppy suggested in another post that celebrities in her situation would receive a replacement from their fans.
She wrote, “So, am I allowed to ask my cupcakes to buy an iPhone 15 Pro Max? Am just asking if I can ask. I swear I’ve seen my mates in Naija receive cars from their fans.”
Cuppy’s phone was seized just days after her father, Femi Otedola, gave 1 million naira each to 750 students at Augustine University in Ilara-Epe, Lagos State.
Recall that the businessman disclosed the donation at the university’s fifth convocation event on Thursday, where he was also installed as chancellor.
Otedola posted photos of the ceremony on Instagram, saying he hoped the donation will help the pupils at this trying time.
