On Tuesday night, famous Nigerian musician David Adeleke, or Davido, made history by becoming the first African artist to perform at the Professional Footballers’ Association Awards in England.

The ‘Unavailable’ singer performed as an interlude before the night’s top prizes were announced at Manchester’s Lowry Theatre.

On Wednesday, he rushed to Twitter to celebrate his historic achievement.

He wrote, “Thank you @PFA for the opportunity to not only attend such a prestigious event but also perform. Music and sports have always gone great together and we proved that again last night! Next stop Dubai @cocacolaarena.”

Recall that Davido performed at last year’s FIFA World Cup closing ceremony in Qatar.
