The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested and detained controversial cross-dresser Bobrisky for allegedly abusing the Nigerian currency, spraying naira notes, and mutilating currency.

The arrest came a few hours after controversial social media influencer VeryDarkMan threatened to become a cross-dresser if Bobrisky was not arrested by the Nigerian police.

Bobrisky, who has been involved in various controversies recently, was arrested in Lagos on Wednesday night and is currently being held at the Lagos Command of the EFCC.

The spokesperson for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, confirmed the arrest in a telephone interview on Thursday, stating that Bobrisky will face charges in court.

Oyewale said, “Bobrisky is with us. He was arrested last night in Lagos, and he is at our Lagos command. We arrested him for alleged abuse of naira notes, spraying of nara notes, and currency mutilation, among others.

“We are very serious about restoring the dignity of the naira. Though our investigation is still ongoing, but he will definitely be charged to court soon.”
