Ben Chilwell is due for a hamstring diagnostic as Mauricio Pochettino confronts an injury issue ahead of this weekend’s match against Fulham.

The winger was taken off injured in the last minutes of Chelsea’s 1-0 Carabao Cup triumph over Brighton on Wednesday evening after being hit by a hard tackle from Billy Gilmour.

Chilwell has a history of hamstring ailments, including a serious one during the previous season that forced him to miss the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The current setback is on the same hamstring, according to The Times, and he will undergo tests to establish the extent of the ailment.

Chelsea could be without 11 players for their match against Fulham on Monday, including suspended players Nicolas Jackson and Malo Gusto.

Wesley Fofana, Christopher Nkunku, Romeo Lavia, Trevoh Chalobah, captain Reece James, and Marcus Bettinelli have all been ruled out for the foreseeable future due to injury, while Carney Chukwuemeka and Benoit Badiashile have returned to partial training but are still far from match fitness.

Chilwell is a significant worry for Chelsea’s trip to Craven Cottage on Monday and may miss the next game against Burnley if scan results are negative. If he does not make the cut, Levi Colwill will most likely take his place at left back.
