In a recent sermon at his church, Nigerian actor turned popular pastor Jimmy Odukoya addressed the issue of women who believe they shouldn’t support their husbands in marriage.

Odukoya emphasized that many women aspire to be brides but neglect their role as wives. He highlighted that, according to biblical teachings, a woman’s duty is to support her husband rather than depend on him.

Odukoya stressed, “The woman was created to be a helper and not a dependent,” emphasizing the importance of being equipped to assist others. He illustrated this by stating that women should not only receive but also contribute, likening it to bringing a chair to complement a table or advising on where to plant seeds.

Odukoya lamented that while many women desire the title of bride, they may not fully embrace the responsibilities of being a wife.
