The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued an invitation to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the states governors’ homecoming ceremony in honor of President Bola Tinubu in South West.

The leader of the Southwest Presidential Inauguration Celebration’s media and publicity sub-committee, Femi Odere, recently revealed that the group had sent invites to governors from opposing parties.

”We are not unmindful of the critical role that Governor Seyi Makinde played in his support for the president during the elections. We would be extremely happy if the Oyo State governor can grace our inauguration celebration for Asiwaju in the Southwest,” he said.

Meanwhile, the celebration would take place at the Ojaja Resort in Ile-Ife, Osun, and would feature other stakeholders and political bodies.

Professor Kayode Familoni, chairman of the panel preparing the post-inauguration ceremony, revealed that Governors Biodun Oyebanji (Ekiti), Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), and Dapo Abiodun (Ogun) are set to preside over the event, along with other ruling party leaders from throughout the country.

He noted that the event was vital to the country’s unity and progress, as evidenced by the new president’s program for the country, and that the people of the South West were determined to support the administration’s success.

Familoni underlined that the new president has displayed real intentions for the country’s growth through his policies and plans since taking office a month ago.

“Yoruba people, regardless of political affiliation, are ready to support him. The leaders are committed to his success and you can see what he achieved in one month, what some people can’t do in eight years,” Familoni said.

“This coming celebration of our President is perhaps the first time that Yoruba sons and daughters from the Diaspora and within the country will have a structured and formal social gathering for a true Yoruba Sons as the President of this Republic.”He went on to say that the event would be the first meeting of Yoruba sons and daughters from the diaspora and within Nigeria to honor a president of their race.
