The Nigerian Air Force successfully eliminated the most notorious bandit leader in Zamfara, Kachallah Damina, along with many of his fighters in the state.

This successful air raid was carried out after receiving information about a large group of bandits planning to attack Corner Village in Bungudu LGA on March 10, 2024.

Damina, who was already injured from clashes with troops of Operation Hadarin Dajia in Dansadau, was killed along with many bandits on motorcycles.

Reliable sources reported that out of the 58 motorcycles carrying bandits on a mission, only 11 fighters returned, many of them without their comrades.

“More than 50 bandits were neutralised, with several motorcycles destroyed. This attack was the biggest and one of the most devastating against the bandit groups in this area in recent times.

“The armed forces are hunting down prominent terrorist leaders and engaging them wherever they are hiding,”  the sources said.

Damina, originally from Kankara LGA in Zamfara State, had caused chaos in Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara states.

He was notorious for his brutality and carried out ruthless attacks and brutal killings.

He operated a large camp in the Magami forest in an area called Kango under the command of Buhari Daji and Nagala.
