Several African presidents are currently in Rome, the capital of Italy, for the Italy-Africa summit. The purpose of this summit is to enhance the relationship between Africa and Italy.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni stated that Italy plans to introduce a new approach to cooperation with African countries.

This approach will not be predatory, paternalistic, or purely charitable. The collaboration will focus on various areas such as energy, economic and infrastructure development, culture, food security, and education and vocational training.

The summit, which began on Sunday, also aims to increase investment in African countries as a means to address irregular migration from the continent.

Other countries, including Germany, Russia, and China, have also organized similar summits to strengthen their ties with African nations.
