The rate of rising insecurity in the country has been attributed to hardship, according to Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.

Iyabo Ojo further cited factors such as acute depression, insomnia, and increased drug use as contributors to societal unrest and deteriorating mental health.

In a recent Instagram post, the actress said, “Hardship, causing acute depression, insomnia, an increase in drug intake, which is amounting to the huge volume of insecurity, irrational behaviour, and mental health in our society”

She, however, concluded with a prayer for divine guidance, urging the government to take urgent action to address these pressing issues before they worsen.

“My DM is a testimonial to these facts. Henceforth, I have to stop reading my DM’s to protect my sanity. May God grant our government the wisdom to do right by their people before it is too late”.
