Fourteen travelers kidnapped by gunmen in Kogi State on Saturday, February 3, have been released.

SP William Ovye, the Public Relations Officer for Kogi State Police, verified the news on Thursday evening.

“Just been informed by the DPO that all the kidnapped victims of God is Good Motors, GIG and ABC have regained their freedom,” he said in a statement.

The kidnapping took place on an Abuja-bound bus at Inele Eteke in Olalamaboro Local Government Area. Armed robbers had abducted the trucks and taken 14 people, including 12 from GIG and 2 from ABC.

The abductors then called the families and demanded a ransom of N15 million for their release. It’s unclear whether any payment was made before the hostages were released.
