On Tuesday, Israeli air attacks on a Gaza hospital compound housing displaced persons killed at least 200 people, according to the health ministry in the Hamas-run Palestinian territory.

“Two hundred to 300 displaced people killed in occupation (Israeli) strikes on the yard” of the Ahli Arab hospital in central Gaza, the ministry said.

“Hundreds of victims are still under the rubble,” it added.

The Hamas government’s media office in Gaza called the attack a “war crime.”

Tens of thousands of people have come to Gaza’s overcrowded hospitals in search of safety from what appears to be relentless Israeli army shelling.

Israel has been attacking targets in Gaza since Hamas terrorists from the Strip launched an onslaught on southern Israel on October 7, sparking a war that has killed dozens on both sides.

“The hospital was housing hundreds of sick and wounded, and people forcibly displaced from their homes” because of other strikes, a statement said.

Al Jazeera footage from the site showed medics and citizens using white bags or blankets to rescue bodies.

Bloodstains and multiple torched cars were visible in the dark hospital courtyard. will look into it… the strike happened just a short while ago.”

Hospitals were appealing refuges for the displaced because they were largely safe from Israeli bombing raids.

Since the war began on October 7, around 3,000 people have been killed in Israeli air strikes across the Gaza Strip.

More than 1,400 people have been slain in Israel, the vast majority of whom were gunned down by Hamas militants who crossed from Gaza and attacked border settlements.
