36 Officers Killed In Niger State Attack — Defence Headquarters

According to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), 36 officers were slain in Niger State on Thursday.

Major General Edward Buba, Director of Defence Media Operations, stated this when he provided a breakdown of losses in the ambush of troops in Niger State and an evacuation chopper that crashed on August 14, 2023.

The breakdown was provided during the Defence Media Operations’ biweekly briefing.

When asked about the cause of the helicopter accident, he reiterated that an investigation is still ongoing and warned citizens to be careful of terrorist propaganda and to be patriotic.

A Nigerian Air Force MI-171 Helicopter on a casualty evacuation mission also crashed on Monday in the state’s Shiroro Local Government Area (LGA).
