Chimamanda Adichie, the award-winning author, appeared alongside the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and his running partner, Datti Baba-Ahmed, in the Presidential Election Petition Court in Abuja on Tuesday.
Obi and Baba-Ahmed are contesting President Bola Tinubu’s (APC) win in the February 25, 2023 election, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Tribunal is expected to resume hearing in the adoption of LP and Obi’s written address.
The petitioners – LP, Obi; the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar — are requesting that Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 election be declared null and void.
They are both hoping to be declared the winner of the election or to have a rerun.
The parties filed and exchanged final written addresses, the most recent of which was Tinubu’s response on July 24 to Atiku and the PDP’s final written address.
