PSG has sent a special birthday message to Lionel Messi, despite the Argentine apparently wanting Kylian Mbappe to leave.
PSG took to Twitter to send a special video message to Messi, wishing him a happy birthday, after the Argentine reportedly urged Mbappe to quit the club.
The France international is at the center of a summer transfer speculation after stating that he will not renew his contract, and he has been heavily linked with Real Madrid. Messi reportedly encouraged Mbappe to join either Barcelona or genuine Madrid since both clubs offer a “real winning project.”
Messi’s departure from PSG was a long one. He was suspended for two weeks after an unapproved trip to Saudi Arabia, and when he returned, sections of the Parc des Princes booed him.
He was extensively connected with a move to the Middle East, but he has instead chosen to join Inter Miami in Major League Soccer. Barcelona, who missed out on bringing the great forward back to the club, wished Messi a happy birthday on social media as well.
Messi’s future is set, as he will leave PSG at the end of his contract on June 30. On July 21, he is slated to make his Inter Miami debut. Meanwhile, Mbappe is set to be at the center of a saga during the summer, with Madrid his most likely destination.
