Chelsea have rejected Arsenal’s initial proposal for Kai Havertz, but the player is eager to make the move across London.

Arsenal are looking to buy Declan Rice from West Ham for a cost that could top £100 million ($128 million), and they are also interested in Southampton’s Romeo Lavia.

According to Matt Law, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has targeted a deal for Havertz as he attempts to restructure his attack, but the first proposal has been rejected.

Arsenal are still in talks with Chelsea about bringing the Germany international to the club. According to reports, Havertz is eager to make the move, and negotiations are ongoing.

He appeared in 47 games for Chelsea last season and scored nine goals, but the club needs to cut their squad, and their new manager, Mauricio Pochettino, is willing to oversee a clearout.

It remains to be seen whether the Champions League winner, who scored the decisive goal in the final against Manchester City, will be one of the players to leave Stamford Bridge, although Arsenal appear eager to sign him.

Negotiations will continue, and Arsenal will hope to reach a deal shortly.
