Karim Benzema has reportedly agreed to stay with Real Madrid for the upcoming season, with the possibility of accepting a mega-money offer from Saudi Arabia in 2024.

Cristiano Ronaldo‘s stunning move to Saudi Arabia in January thrust the league into the spotlight, and they appear to be willing to throw large quantities of money around.

According to reports, Ronaldo earns £173 million per year with Al Nassr, and players such as Lionel Messi and other football icons have been approached. Benzema is said to be the latest footballer to be offered a large quantity of money to relocate to the Saudi Pro League.

The Frenchman has only one year left on his Real Madrid deal, and his future at the Bernabeu has been called into question. According to reports, Benzema was swayed by an enticing offer from Saudi Pro League champions Al Ittihad.

He reportedly informed Carlo Ancelotti that he intended to leave Real Madrid to join the Saudi club, albeit no fee had been agreed upon between the two clubs. However, it appears like Benzema’s anticipated relocation to Saudi Arabia would be postponed for a year.

According to the Spanish newspaper Marca, Benzema has decided to stay at Real for another year. According to the report, Benzema had no intention of leaving the Bernabeu this summer.

The striker is thought to be’very thankful’ to Saudi Arabia for the lucrative contract offer, but he wants to leave Real on a positive note. After a disappointing season for Real Madrid, Benzema allegedly feels he has unfinished business in Spain’s capital.

The 35-year-old is still thinking about moving to Saudi Arabia next year, but it appears like he will stay with Real for at least another year. That implies a reunion with former teammate Ronaldo is on hold for the time being.

The sporting icon from Portugal is confident that additional players will soon follow him in Saudi Arabia.

“If they are coming, big players and big names, young players, old players, they are very welcome because if that happens, the league will improve,” Ronaldo said. “Age is not important, but competing players, young players, depend on many factors.”
