Actor Murphy Afolabi Passes On Days After Birthday

Veteran film producer and director Tunde Ola-Yusuf announced his departure on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

Nigeria’s film industry is once more in a grieving state following the death of popular Nollywood actor Murphy Afolabi.

The well-known Yoruba actor, 49, passed away in the early hours of this morning at his home.

Veteran film producer and director Tunde Ola-Yusuf announced his departure on his Facebook page on Sunday afternoon.

“Rest in peace. May God give the family and close associates the fortitude to bear the loss,” he wrote.

Just over a week ago, on Friday, May 5, the dead had his birthday.

Murphy launched his career with the film “Ifa Olokun,” and he has since appeared in and produced dozens more under Dagunro’s direction.
