Chelsea defender Thiago Silva is apparently attempting to have his contract terminated so that he can return to his childhood club in Brazil this summer.
Silva has been a key player for Chelsea since joining from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2020. The 38-year-old veteran has been a rock in the center of the defense.
In February, Silva agreed to a one-year contract deal with Chelsea. The agreement was reached prior to Graham Potter’s departure and will be in effect until June 2024.
Silva is said to be regretting his decision to commit his career to the club as a result of the volatile happenings at Stamford Bridge this season.
According to Globo Esporte, as reported by Mirror, Silva wants to leave Chelsea at the end of the season to rejoin his old club Fluminense in the twilight of his career.

Marcelo, a Real Madrid icon, has joined the Rio de Janeiro-based team, which is presently second in Brazil’s Serie A. Silva is a good buddy of Marcelo’s and has agreed to play one more season at home before calling it quits.
