Famous Nollywood actress-turned politician, Funke Akindele has spoken out about her unexpected disappearance from the microblogging platform Twitter after losing the Lagos gubernatorial race.

Recall that Funke Akindele, the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Lagos State, Abdulazeez Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, erased all of her campaign and political-related posts on social media after the election.

This comes after the current governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, defeated the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party, in the March 18, 2023, gubernatorial elections.

Funke was questioned about her absence from the app by a follower, @apexproperties2.

The fan @apexproperties2 wrote, “Madam Funke, I cite you. Longest time, you ran away from us or what happened?”

Funke responded, “Dem too dey insult people on this app, so I stay off.”

In a similar vein, another user, @Odun_is_my_name, wondered in the comments section if Akindele was scared of people.

@Odun_is_ my_ name wrote: “Are you afraid of people?”

Funke answered: “No I’m not afraid. I’m just careful.”
