Cole Palmer was the star of the show in Chelsea’s impressive 6-0 win over Everton at Stamford Bridge. His four goals put a dent in Everton’s hopes of avoiding relegation.
Palmer wasted no time getting on the scoresheet, scoring twice in the first 18 minutes with a beautiful curling shot from outside the box and a close-range rebound.
He completed his hat-trick before the half-hour mark with another fantastic finish after a mistake by Jordan Pickford. Nicolas Jackson added a fourth goal before halftime to make it 4-0.
After the break, the pace of the game slowed down a bit, which was expected. However, Chelsea managed to score a fifth goal when Palmer successfully converted a penalty kick after Tarkowski fouled Madueke.
Before the penalty was taken, there was some drama as Jackson and Madueke argued over who would take it. Eventually, captain Gallagher intervened and gave the ball to Palmer.
In the 90th minute, substitute Gilchrist scored another goal, sealing a comprehensive victory for Chelsea. This defeat was costly for Sean Dyche and Everton, who were left disappointed.
