A youth forum in Borno State is appealing to President Bola Tinubu to pardon and release suspended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari.

The forum believes that Kyari, despite being detained, has played a significant role in fighting banditry and insurgency in northern Nigeria.

DCP Abba Kyari, a well-known figure in the Nigerian Police Force, was suspended after being implicated in a fraud case involving international fraudster Hushpuppi.

Despite this, the youth forum in Borno State is asking for his forgiveness, highlighting his past efforts in combating crime in the area.

The forum recognises Kyari’s accomplishments in addressing banditry and insurgency, emphasising his crucial role in maintaining security and peace in Borno State and beyond.

”His continued suspension could potentially undermine ongoing efforts to combat crime and protect communities from terrorist threats,” the forum stated.

Additionally, the youth forum highlighted the importance of acknowledging and valuing the efforts of security personnel who put their lives on the line every day to protect the country.

They believe that suspending Kyari could have a negative impact on the morale of the security forces, which could in turn reduce their ability to address security issues effectively.
