87 people were abducted by Terrorists on Sunday evening after a fresh attack on Kajuru Station community in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
A member of Kajuru Station Youth, Harisu Dari, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in Kaduna on Monday.
Harisu said the terrorists also broke into some shops and stole food and other valuables.
He said that they entered the city at about 10 o’clock at night.
The attack came just two days after the abduction of 15 women and a man in the Dogon Noma community of the same local government.
Kajuru and Chikun local governments had been the subject of kidnappings in the last two weeks, causing tension in the state.
Harisu said no contact had yet been made with the 87 locals kidnapped on Sunday night.
“As of the time I visited the community this morning, security operatives have not been drafted to help restore the confidence of the villagers.
“The villagers are traumatic with the sad development. The government needs to re-strategise in tackling these terrorists,” he said.
Terrorists have kidnapped more than 172 villagers in two weeks.
When contacted, State Police Public Relations Officer ASP Mansir Hassan did not respond to calls or SMS sent to him by our correspondent at the time of filing this report.
