Dennis Idahosa, a member of the House of Representatives, has been chosen as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for governor in Edo State.

The Chairman of the APC primary election committee, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, announced the emergence of Idahosa on Saturday in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.

During the APC governorship primary election on Saturday, Uzodinma revealed that Idahosa received a total of 40,483 votes, surpassing eight other candidates.

Uzodinma stated that since Idahosa received the highest number of votes among the nine candidates, he will be the APC’s candidate in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State.

Uzodinma explained that there was confusion about the location of the committee’s secretariat. He clarified that the Protea Hotel, not the Lushville Hotel, where results were announced earlier, was the correct secretariat.

Earlier, the other governorship primary aspirants, Ernest Afolabi Umakhihe, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, and Chief Lucky Imasuen, withdrew from the primary election.
