Tyson Fury has dismissed speculation that he will retire from boxing after revealing a five-bout plan that includes a battle against Anthony Joshua.
Speculations have surfaced in recent times that the heavyweight fighter may be ready to retire after the veracity of an eye injury was called into doubt.
The 35-year-old discovered the problem while training for his historic unification fight with Oleksandr Usyk, which was scheduled for February 17.
However, the event has been rescheduled until May 18 due to what Queensberry Promotions characterized as “significant stitching.”
Fury is currently healing ahead of the rescheduled fight, which he has hinted might be the first of two between the two.
“I keep hearing talk of people saying I should retire or I’m going to retire soon or whatever,” he said on social media, displaying the cut above his right eye.
“I ain’t retiring; I’ve got two fights with Usyk for the undisputed, twice.”
Fury is presently the WBC heavyweight champion, while his Ukrainian opponent will be defending the WBA, IBF, and WBO titles.
The winner will be the division’s first undisputed boxer since Lennox Lewis in 2000.
Fury, on the other hand, claims he has no plans to retire after defeating Usyk, instead aiming for an all-British confrontation with Anthony Joshua.
A battle between the two has been highly anticipated for many years but has yet to take place.
The 35-year-old, on the other hand, claims he is determined to make the challenge a reality, having revealed a plan for following the ‘Ring of Fire’ event in Riyadh.
“I’m going to fight AJ [Anthony Joshua],” he continued, “at least once, maybe twice, if there’s a rematch—if he wants one after the first battering I give him.
“Then I’m going to fight Ngannou again. That’s just the start.
“There’s five fights for you to whet your appetite. I ain’t going nowhere; I’m 35 years old and in the prime of my life.”
