Many Killed As Bandits Ambush Soldiers, Police Operatives In Zamfara

A group of Police Mobile Force personnel and Soldiers were ambushed by bandits in Zamfara State, resulting in a deadly attack and multiple fatalities.

The ambush took place on January 6, 2023, between the Danjigba and Kunci Kargo locations of Sector 7 of Operation Hadarin Daji.

The bandits launched a surprise assault on the operatives, killing all personnel inside a targeted gun truck and taking their rifles and an AA Rifle.

Among the victims were Inspector Wilson Paul Mine and PMF personnel from PMF 42, both of whom lost their lives and rifles to the attackers.

Furthermore, in the ambush, four soldiers tragically lost their lives. Inspector Ewa Onono, another operative, also suffered injuries when a backup vehicle overturned, resulting in fractures to his leg and arm.

Fortunately, his rifle remained undamaged. The wounded individuals were quickly taken to Gusau Teaching Hospital for immediate medical attention.

Currently, information about the location of the deceased operatives’ bodies has not been revealed in the latest update.
