Former Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, has expressed admiration for his former colleague and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
Ikpeazu described Wike as a person with strong beliefs, integrity, and bravery. In a birthday message conveyed by his spokesperson, Onyebuchi Ememanka, Ikpeazu commended Wike’s dedication to democracy and the protection of essential liberties.
“One thing that clearly defines the persona of Nyesom Wike is that he is a fearless and uncompromising advocate of democracy and the fundamental freedoms that come with it,” the message stated.
Ikpeazu praised Wike for his efforts in promoting positive change and democratic values in Nigeria.
“Wike has carved a niche for himself as a strong and fearless advocate of democratic ethos in Nigeria and an agent of positive change,” he added.
Before the general elections, a group of governors called G5, which included Ikpeazu, Wike, Samuel Ortom, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and Seyi Makinde, all members of the PDP party, disagreed with the party leadership.
Ortom, Ikpeazu, Wike, and Ugwuanyi have completed their terms as governors, while Makinde has been re-elected for a second term in Oyo State. Ortom, Ugwuanyi, and Ikpeazu were unsuccessful in their bids for senatorial seats in the February elections. However, Wike was later appointed as the FCT Minister by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
