The Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) have released the official song for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The song titled “AKWABA” means “welcome” in the Ivorian language.
The production of the song was spearheaded by the skilled team at Universal Music, Africa, a global record company.
The song is a proclamation of love for football, as well as a tribute to the continent’s cultural richness and Cote d’Ivoire’s friendly hospitality.
The song was co-written by Nigerian diva Yemi Alade, Ivorian trio Magic System, Egyptian pop icon Mohamed Ramadan, and acclaimed producer Dany Synthe.
The 2023 AFCON finals will be held in Cote d’Ivoire from January 13 to February 11, 2024.
The biennial competition will feature 24 countries.
