Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, has listed Christopher Nkunku as the Blues player who was absent against Liverpool.

Pochettino spoke following Chelsea’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.

Nkunku did not play in the game owing to an injury he suffered this summer previous to the start of the new Premier League season.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Pochettino said, “It’s true that we miss a player like [Christopher] Nkunku, who was perfect in combination with him [Jackson]. They were doing really well in the pre-season.”

He added, “The plan was to play [Nkunku] with [Jackson], but we need to adapt.

“These things happen in football and we need to always be positive.”

Chelsea is now tenth in the Premier League table, thanks to the outcome versus Liverpool.

Pochettino’s side will next face West Ham United in the Premier League.
