According to the CCC, an activist was forcibly taken by armed men in a vehicle on Saturday while campaigning for a party candidate before the 9 December elections.
These by-elections are being held because the party claims that its members were illegally and fraudulently recalled.
In the previous month, more than a dozen opposition MPs lost their seats when a man, who claimed to be the party’s interim secretary-general, stated that they were no longer members.
The CCC has announced that the removal of its elected members has led to the loss of our change champion.
The activist’s abduction is part of a series of kidnappings targeting opposition politicians and human rights activists in Zimbabwe.
The CCC holds state agents responsible for the violence against its members, although the ruling Zanu-PF party denies these allegations.
