Uche Jombo, a veteran Nollywood actress, has stated that false rape accusers should face the same punishment as rapists.
The acquittal of ex-Manchester City footballer Benjamin Mendy, who was accused of raping a lady and attempting to rape another, prompted the thespian to make this statement.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Jombo declared, “False rape accusations should attract same jail term as rape.”
Benjamin Mendy, a Manchester City defender, was cleared of rape and attempted rape by a jury at Chester Crown Court on Friday.
Due to the trials, Mendy missed City’s unprecedented treble in the English Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League last season.
