Wike, Alake, Bagudu, Other Ministers To Earn N8.63 Billion As Salary

Published:

The newly appointed ministers under President Bola Tinubu‘s administration are set to earn N8.63 billion in salaries and allowances over the next four years.

However, if the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC) completes its evaluation of public officials’ pay, the figure could rise.

According to the Daily Trust, RMFAC data on the remuneration package for public servants revealed that a minister’s monthly salary is set at N650,135.99.

This equates to N7.801 million per year for a minister.

A minister’s basic income is N2,026,400 per year; car fuelling is N1,519,800; personal help is N506,600; domestic staff is N1,519,800; entertainment is N911,880; utilities are N607,920; monitoring is N405,280; and newspapers are N303,960.

Other allowances granted by the RMAFC for ministers include N16.20 million for four years of housing; N6.079 million for furnishings; N6.079 million for severance; N0.81 million for leave; and N8.1 million for motor vehicles.

According to the estimate, each of the 45 ministers will be paid N31.2 million over a four-year period. This means that they will all be paid N1.497 billion per month for the next four years.

Each minister also receives annual extra allowances of N37.28 million, which equates to N1.785 billion per year for all of them and N7.142 billion over a four-year period.
