Unai Emery has been named the Barclays Manager of the Month For the month of December 2023.
After leading Aston Villa to second place in the table, Emery emerges victorious from a four-man shortlist, defeating Andoni Iraola, David Moyes, and Jürgen Klopp for the title.
Emery expressed gratitude and pride in the work they had done. “The most important thing is to be consistent, be demanding, and try to improve every day.”
In a month that saw back-to-back clean-sheet wins against Manchester City and Arsenal, the Spaniard’s club only lost one of their seven games.
Additionally, Emery managed a late comeback success against Brentford and a 3-2 triumph over Burnley that stretched Villa’s winning streak in the Premier League at home to 17 games.
The 52-year-old has now won the prize twice, adding to his April 2023 win. As Villa manager, only Martin O’Neill has won it four times.
