President Bola Tinubu has sacked Engr. Imam Kashim Imam days after he was appointed Chairman of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency’s (FERMA) Board of Directors.
Imam, 24, was appointed by the President on October 13 for a “renewable term of four (4) years, in accordance with Section 2(3) of the FERMA Amendment Act, 2007.”
Many people were concerned about his appointment, claiming he lacked the necessary experience.
Following the outrage, presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale announced on Thursday that the candidacy was withdrawn with immediate effect.
Although the presidency provided no explanation for the decision, Ngelale stated that all other appointments to FERMA’s Board and Executive Management team are unaffected by this direction.
