President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the spokesperson for the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), as Special Adviser on Political Issues in the Office of Vice President Kashim Shettima.

Dr. Baba-Ahmed is the elder brother of Datti Baba-Ahmed, the Labour Party‘s vice-presidential candidate in the 2023 general election.

On Monday, Baba-Ahmed made the announcement via his official X account.

He wrote: “It is time to make it public that I have accepted the call to serve as Special Adviser (Political) to the VP. This is not the time for criticism when you can be useful in turning the country around. I’m honored and humbled. Please pray for me and Nigeria.”
