Former Senator Shehu Sani stated on Monday that it would be hard to hide over 200 kidnapped students without being noticed, even with the best technology available.
Sani pointed out that Kaduna does not have dense forests and is located on the Savanna geographical belt, like most northern states in Nigeria, making it challenging to conceal the students.
It is remembered that at least 280 school pupils were taken by terrorists from their school in Kuriga, Kaduna State.
Sani, in a social media post, mentioned that the terrorists have limited options and expressed confidence that the students will be rescued.
He wrote: “Kaduna, like most northern states of Nigeria, lies on the Savanna geographical belt. We don’t have thick forests where over 200 pupils can be hidden without being detected using the best of technology. Locating them is one thing, and the next challenge is the thought of the consequences of the use of force to rescue them. I believe that the defence and security agencies are weighing on the best and safest ways. The terrorists have limited options. I’m optimistic that the pupils’ freedom will be secured.”
