Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Temilade Openiyi, aka Tems, won two awards on Wednesday.
the Oscar-nominated diva received the Trailblazer Award at the ELLE Style Awards in London, United Kingdom on September 6, 2023.
Tems was on hand to accept her award, which was presented by BAFTA-winning actress Naomi Ackie and BBC Radio 1 host Julie Adenuga.
In her acceptance speech, the ‘Essence’ crooner credited her career success to her background in Lagos, Nigeria, and her faith.
On the other side of the Atlantic, Tems was named Songwriter of the Year at the 2023 BMI R&B/Hip-Hop Awards, which were held on September 6, 2023, at the LIV Nightclub in Miami Beach.
She was honored for her work on ‘Free Mind,’ Rihanna‘s ‘Lift Me Up,’ and Future and Drake’s ‘Wait For U.’
