Suspected Kidnapper Nabbed After Gun Battle In Ekiti [PHOTOS]

Ekiti — The Nigerian Army special forces, dispatched by the Chief of Army Staff to Ekiti State, have successfully apprehended one of the suspected kidnappers who have been causing terror in the Ikere/Igbara Odo area of the state.

The suspect, identified as Sanusi Dangani from Kano State, was captured within twelve hours of the special forces’ arrival in the state.

On Thursday, February 8, 2024, he was presented to the press at the Fajuyi Pavilion in Ado Ekiti.

Retired Brigadier General Ebenezer Ogundana, the Special Adviser to Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Security Matters, stated that the operation was initiated based on an intelligence report.

However, he clarified that five additional suspects managed to escape during the exchange of gunfire and are currently being chased by the Nigerian Army.

Ogundana emphasized that the police force will not tolerate any form of criminal activity within the state.

Upon apprehending the suspect, a wide range of weapons and items were discovered, including a Dane gun, a double-barreled pistol, lighters, torches, bottles of alcoholic drinks, phones, a cutlass, and a knife.
