The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the final three shortlists for the Women’s National Team of the Year award in 2023, with the Super Falcons of Nigeria making the cut.

On Thursday, CAF shared the final three shortlists on their X handle.

The two other nations are South Africa and Morocco, the current champions of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, and the winner will be declared on Monday, December 11th, in Marrakech, Morocco.

South Africa, Nigeria, and Morocco competed in the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand this year.

At the tournament, which Spain won, all three of them advanced to the round of 16.

Morocco will host the 2024 WAFCON, where Nigeria’s Super Falcons recently secured a spot.

The Falcons won 7-1 overall against Cape Verde to guarantee their 13th participation in the tournament, which was first held in Nigeria in 1998.
