Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen has confirmed that Victor Boniface has successfully undergone surgery.

Boniface suffered a groin injury while training for Nigeria’s preparations for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.

“Victor #Boniface was successfully operated on today in Berlin,” reads a statement on the club’s X handle.

“The striker will return to Leverkusen later this week to start his rehabilitation process.”

Terem Moffi, the OGC Nice star from France, has taken the place of the 23-year-old player in Nigeria’s squad for AFCON 2023.

Unfortunately, the young player will be unable to participate until April 2024.
