In an attempt to bolster their injured roster before the January transfer window opens, Tottenham Hotspur has been linked to a number of young players, including Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace and Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton.

Not only that, reports also have it that the North London club is also interested in Jean-Clair Todibo and Samuel Iling-Junior. After a stellar start to the season, Ange Postecoglou’s team is currently in a slump, and the former Celtic manager is hoping that some new players will help them get back to where they were before the slump.

Tottenham is also thinking about adding to their roster through loans. Jota, formerly of Celtic, signed a summer loan with Al-Ittihad, but he may return to the Saudi Pro League on a loan. In the January transfer window, Spurs also hope to let go of some players. Eric Dier, a 49-cap England international, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are both free to depart Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for a “suitable fee.”

Spurs’ senior squad is currently dealing with a long list of injuries. At the moment, Manor Solomon, Eric Dier, Alfie Whiteman, James Maddison, Ryan Sessegnon, Micky Van de Ven, Ivan Perisic, and Rodrigo Bentancur are all out of commission.

Since Tottenham is currently lacking a lot of defensive options, it makes sense that they are trying to add some cover in this area of the pitch. Naturally, they also lack options in central midfield due to the absence of Maddison and Bentancur, so it’s not the only position they need to improve.

They may also need to substitute in some offensive players if Son Heung-min is sidelined for a few games. The Lilywhites appear to have a busy January ahead of them all in all.
