Nigerian singer Chike has come out to share his inclination towards romantic relationships with older women, citing effective communication as a key factor.

Speaking on the Unpack Podcast hosted by NAY, the 30-year-old artist expresses a belief that women generally communicate more effectively when they are “slightly advanced in age.”

Chike underscores the challenge of meaningful communication with younger women, noting a tendency for some to prioritise superficial aspects such as social media presence.

He explains, “What’s she going to understand? She just wants to take pictures, be on Instagram, and tell everybody that she’s dating you. What are you unpacking for that person?”

The artist acknowledges the rarity of finding mature, younger women but emphasizes that such qualities are more prevalent in older women.

Drawing from his personal experiences, Chike discloses that his past two relationships involved partners older than him, attributing this choice to seeking a specific level of peace that older women tend to offer.

While recognizing the existence of mature younger women, Chike notes a misalignment in visions, making it challenging to connect with them on a deeper level.

He clarifies that his interactions with younger women are limited, with a preference for those who are dedicated to their careers and pursuits.
