Sergio Reguilon of Tottenham Hotspur is ready to join Manchester United after passing a medical at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils’ hunt for a left-back is nearly done, according to The Athletic, who says that they are on the verge of finalizing Reguilon’s loan signing after he passed a medical on Thursday. The contract will be for a season, with no option to extend it, and United might stop the stint in January.
United have apparently been monitoring Reguilon, who has yet to appear for Tottenham this season. After Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia were ruled out with injuries, they were rumored to be planning a surprise loan bid for Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella earlier this week.
United are anxious to sign a left-back before the transfer window closes, and Reguilon, who spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, appears to be the man to do it.
Erik ten Hag’s side face Arsenal in a crucial Premier League match this Sunday, and with players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martilleni capable of terrorizing any full-back in the league, the coach will want to have Reguilon available.
