Dogo Gide died from gunshot wounds sustained during a clash with Operation Hadarin Daji (OPHD) forces in the difficult terrain of Madada forest in the Maru local government area on March 12, 2024.

Despite being seriously injured, Dogo Gide was secretly taken to a hospital in Mabera, Sokoto, Sokoto State, where he later died.

His ability to access the hospital was allegedly facilitated by a detained security official, raising concerns about possible collaboration within the security forces.

The successful capture of Dogo Gide is a major accomplishment for the Nigerian security forces, highlighting the joint efforts of 1 Division and 8 Division of the Nigerian Army.

Dogo Gide has a history of association with ANSARU and other terrorist groups, and has been implicated in crimes such as shooting down a military helicopter in the Dansadau-Birmin Gwari region and kidnapping students from Federal Government College Yauri.
