Residents Block Abuja-Kaduna Highway In Protest Against Bandit Attack

Published:

Residents of Goningora in the Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State have blocked the Abuja-Kaduna highway after bandits attacked their community.

During the attack on the night of Wednesday, February 28th, 2024, many community members were kidnapped and several others were injured.

According to Channels Television, angry residents took to the streets on Thursday morning, causing a blockage on the busy Abuja-Kaduna highway.

This has resulted in heavy traffic on the road, leaving many motorists stranded.

Two individuals, one of whom was a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force, were reportedly killed in the recent attack on the Goningora community.

The attack occurred shortly after soldiers had eliminated a well-known bandit leader, Boderi Isyaku, and some of his followers in the Chikun local government area.

During the confrontation, the bandits set fire to a military-armored vehicle while the soldiers were trying to fight them off.
