The 5 billion naira allocated in the 2023 supplementary budget for the Presidential Yacht has been scrapped by the House of Representatives.
Abubakar Bichi, Chairman of the House Committee on Appropriation, told journalists after the supplementary budget was passed that lawmakers considered public interest in scrapping the provision for the Yacht and transferring the money to add to the 5.5 billion naira student loan.
The budgetary allocation for student loans is now 10.5 billion naira.
