Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the governorship candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos State for the 2023 general election, believes that Peter Obi, the party’s presidential candidate, is the leader that Nigeria requires.

However, Rhodes-Vivour mentioned on the Honest Bunch Podcast that Obi may not be the politician that they need.

“Peter Obi is the leader that we need for Nigeria, but not the politician we need for us,” he said.

Rhodes-Vivour also maintained, “Peter (Obi) does not buy votes. He won Lagos without buying votes.”

Obi came in third place in last year’s election, with President Bola Tinubu and Atiku Abubakar ahead of him.

Rhodes-Vivour also lost the gubernatorial election to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Rhodes-Vivour took the election result to the Supreme Court, where a five-member panel unanimously confirmed Sanwo-Olu as the winner of the March 18, 2023, governorship election. The court dismissed two appeals against his victory.
