Olubadan Of Ibadanland, Lekan Balogun Is Dead

The 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, has passed away.

He died at the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

Balogun was from Ali-Iwo compound in Ibadan North East local government area.

He died shortly after being taken to the hospital.

Before becoming monarch in 2022, Balogun was an academic and politician.

He worked as a lecturer at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria and later served as a senator representing Oyo Central District from 1999 to 2003.

Balogun, who held a doctorate degree, became Olubadan on March 11, 2022, following the passing of Oba Saliu Akanmu Adetunji on January 2, 2022.
